The steps to success for your smile begin with a consultation appointment. At this appointment you will meet our team and we will take digital photographs of your smile. You will sit down with one of our smile expert doctors and you will discuss (together) the improvements you desire for your smile. Our doctors actually listen to our patients!

Your Atlanta Dental Spa cosmetic dentists understand that listening to each individual’s goals is the first key to smile success. Once your Atlanta Dental Spa doctor understands the goals you want to achieve for your smile, he or she will create a custom design for your case. This may include straightening your teeth with Invisalign, whitening your teeth, using reshaping and bonding of your teeth, using speciallized porcealin veneers, or a combination of these an other treatments.

Porcelain Veneers, No-Prep Veneers

If your smile makeover will include porcelain veneers, then the next step in your process is the wax-up. The doctor’s custom design starts with a wax-up. At Atlanta Dental Spa we use this wax-up as a blueprint (like architectural designs) to design and create your new smile. We will make impressions of your teeth which are poured into models.

We mount these models on an advanced chewing simulator (called an articulator) that allows us to view all aspects of your mouth/teeth and chewing system. Then, on these models we design your new smile (according to your goals you shared with us in your consultation appointment) using wax for the teeth (in place of the porcelain that we will eventually place).

Atlanta Dental Spa, insisting on the finest products/materials for your smile, uses the top master ceramists in the world to help in the design of these cases. Once we have completed the wax-up, your next appointment is what we refer to as your prep appointment. At this visit, we will get your teeth ready to receive the porcelain veneers.

The Prep Appointment

In a no-prep veneers case, you may not even need to be numbed. We will just clean your teeth and make impressions — then we will create beautiful temporaries (using the wax-up as a template) for you to wear. In some cases, at the prep appointment we need to contour/shape your teeth or remove decay or old fillings.

In these cases, we comfortably numb our patients (our dentists have also mastered the skill of giving painless anaesthetic!), and do only the necessary contouring of your teeth (we don’t grind the teeth down to nubs like we used to have to in the olden days of dentistry) before making your impressions and placing your temporaries. These temporaries allow you to have an instantly gorgeous smile while you wait for your porcelain veneers to be created. The temporaries allow you to “try out” your new smile for a little while. We can make modifications to the temporaries – tweaking them until you feel they are “just right.”

Once they are “just right,” we will use them as a template by which we will design the porcelain veneers. Just like our Atlanta Dental Spa cosmetic dentists, our master ceramists have the experience and skill required to deliver excellent results for you. At this point you’re ready for what we call your seat appointment.

The Seat Appointment

At this visit, we will remove the temporaries and try in the porcelain veneers. If your Atlanta Dental Spa team approves of (and loves) the quality and aesthetics of your new smile, then (while the porcelain is still just “tried in”) we will show you the results in the mirror. And we will only bond the porcelain in once you approve of your new smile. At Atlanta Dental Spa we do NOT just bond them in and only show you after it’s all said and done.

We work WITH you to achieve your desired results. Once you approve of your new smile, we condition your teeth and veneers with leading edge technology and techniques, and we bond the porcelain to your teeth. Atlanta Invisalign

If your smile makeover includes Invisalign (invisible braces), then your next step (after consultation) will be your Invisalign records appointment. We will make impressions of your teeth and your bite, and your Atlanta Dental Spa cosmetic dentist will use these records to design a computer program that will align your teeth and smile. After the computer program is complete, you will return for your next visist — the Clin-Check.

Clin-Check

At this appointment you will get to view your Invisalign Clin-Check. The Clin-Check will show you a computer simulation of your very own teeth from start to finish. You will get to see your teeth go through the movements that will align your teeth and smile to perfection. This lets you see the before and after results for your smile before you decide to invest in the treatment plan.

If you like what you see, your Atlanta Dental Spa team will move forward with fabricating your Invisalign trays. And in a couple of weeks, we will deliver your invisible braces — and you’ll be on your way to your dream smile.

Reshaping/Recontouring

If you already like the way your teeth look, but you want to make minor improvements to your smile, we may be able to simply reshape or recontour your teeth to transform your smile into the smile you really want. Our Atlanta Dental Spa expert dentists will often combine this procedure with whitening and bonding to create the masterpiece that is your smile.

Bonding

Perhaps the most difficult procedure for many dentists to master, bonding is a one-appointment procedure that requires a dentist to have artistic hands and vast understanding of materials and aesthetics.
