Dr. Estep presents a distinguished and celebrated list of scholastic achievements in her field, beginning with the very prestigious honor of Fellow to the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics (ACE). The Academy (made up of the most renowned cosmetic dentists in the world) created an extensive, rigorous process to evaluate professionals who are committed to advanced learning, attention to detail, and clinical excellence. With only three Fellows in the State of Georgia, Dr. Estep and Dr. Boulden of Atlanta Dental Spa make up two of these prominent academic positions.

Even more recently, in 2011 Dr. Estep achieved her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, an award that requires 500 hours of approved continuing education along with passing a rigorous exam encompassing all areas of dentistry.

In 2010, Dr. Estep helped found the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) — an Academy dedicated to the mouth-body relationship whose members strive to provide the absolute highest quality of care as it pertains to total wellness.  Dr. Estep sat on AAOSH’s founding Board of DIrectors and chaired a committee that put on AAOSH’s inaugural scientific session.

Just this fall, Dr. Estep joined a group of prestigious physicians and dentists to become certified in the Bale/Doneen method: a method that takes into consideration paradigm shifts in cardiovascular prevention.  Using this method, Dr. Estep can draw an accurate customzed picture of a person’s risk for cardiocascular disease and heat attack/stroke.  Once this picture is drawn, Dr. Estep can aid in reducing and removing these risks.  There is recent evidence to support the belief that doctors and dentists who join together to practice the Bale/Doneen can eliminate the risk of heart attack/stroke in their patients.

To add to her recent list of admirable accomplishments, Dr. Estep has been highly awarded throughout her career:

• Voted five consecutive years into the elite group of America’s Top Cosmetic Dentists
• Voted consecutively as one of Atlanta’s Top Cosmetic Dentists since its inception in 2008
• Recognized in Who’s Who of America’s Leading Female Professionals for nearly a decade
• Won 6 medals in the 2010 ACE Smile Design Competition, including recognition in all 3 categories
• Won overall silver medal for the entire 2010 ACE Smile Design Competition
• A medal-winning member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)
• A medal winner for every case she entered in the last AACD Smile Design Competition
• Associate Member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics
• Member of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry
• Sustaining Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)
• Received the certificate of honor from the AACD Give Back A Smile Program
• A member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, American Academy of Oral Systemic Health, Georgia Dental Association, Dawson Academy Alumni, and the American Dental Association
• In addition to completing several hundreds of hours of post-graduate cosmetic education, Dr. Estep also attended comprehensive, hands-on training courses in aesthetic dentistry at the acclaimed Hornbrook Group, The Dawson Center, and the Seattle Institute, and more while she continues to log hundreds of hours of optional continuing education each year
• A regular attendee of lectures at the top Aesthetic Dentistry Conferences in the country and worldwide
• Selected as a Top Dentist in Roswell, GA by the IAD (International Association of Dentists)- a division of the Leading Physicians of the World (Doctors of Excellence)

After graduating with honors from Georgia Tech, Dr. Susan G. Estep received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry where she spent extracurricular hours in the dental research department studying cosmetic dental technology and logging several hundred hours performing smile makeovers, veneers and cosmetic dental procedures. She remains committed to using the best, most advanced equipment and materials in her practice thus enabling her to construct award-winning smiles while providing long lasting results for each patient. Dr. Estep remains fervent in her practice to educate patients on oral-systemic health and deliver advanced methods of care to help ensure optimal health results. She is devoted to overall patient well-being and developed a communications program to promote patient education and advocacy.

Dr. Estep counts her blessings every day.  She is married to a local attorney, Steve Estep. They have two children, Sammie and Oscar that are 15 months apart. In her free time (okay, very little free time) you may find her learning to play golf, working out, at a Georgia Tech or Hawks game, traveling, and spending time with family.
