Dr. Drew King loves his work as a dentist and is proud to be part of the team at Atlanta Dental Spa. A native of Syracuse, NY, Dr. King has lived in the Atlanta area for over twenty years. Dr. King knew he first wanted to be a dentist following a traumatic dental accident as a teenager. He recalls this experience and the compassionate nature of his dentist as a pivotal moment in his life ultimately propelling him into the field of dentistry. He attended Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta, and then University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. King stayed in Athens and worked at the College of Veterinary Medicine at University of Georgia before returning to school to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. After graduation, Dr. King was selected for the General Practice Residency Program in Augusta, GA where he received extensive training in intravenous (IV) conscious sedation, dental extractions, bone grafting, dental implants, and the management of medically complex patients.
Dr. King is extremely passionate about lifelong learning and teaching and serves as a part-time faculty member at the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta where he assists in training residents about implant dentistry and in providing comprehensive dental care to patients while mastering the latest advancements and technology in dentistry.
Dr. King is also committed to providing comprehensive dental health to patients of all ages. He thoroughly enjoys interacting with patients and focuses on making every patient feel just like “family.” He is extremely committed to continuing education with a focus on Invisalign, implant, aesthetic and comprehensive dentistry.
As a dedicated lifelong learner, Dr. King is an active member of the Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Society, American Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI)
Having served as a team leader and advocate since 2000, Dr. King remains actively involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Program. He is also passionate about volunteering with the Georgia Mission of Mercy, which provides free dental care to 2,000 low and no-income adults.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, golf, basketball, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. King is an avid sports fan of Syracuse University and University of Georgia.
